From the heart of South Africa with the cast of The Lion King to the snowy shores of Newfoundland with the cast of Come from Away, some of Broadwayโs most celebrated stars shared songs based on traditions from their homes and from where their shows are set.
The show was hosted and conceived by Jelani Remy from Broadwayโs Ain’t Too Proud – The Life of Times of The Temptations. The evening included a series of spectacular performances, from the legendary Andrรฉ De Shields sharing a jazzy rendition of โYouโre A Mean One, Mr. Grinchโ to Tony Award nominee Carolee Carmello decorating her home while belting Mameโs โNeed a Little Christmas.
The six merry murderesses from Chicago (Donna Marie Asbury, Gabriela Garcia, Carly Hughes, Arian Keddel, Mary Claire King and Tonya Wathen) shared a dangerously sultry rendition of โSanta Baby,โ and Tony winner Lena Hall warmed hearts with a stirring performance of โImagineโ by John Lennon. Fans experienced the magic of NYC at Christmastime from the comfort of their homes with a festive tour through the theater district.
The rest of the lineup included Come from Away Islanders, Mean Girlsโ Plastics and more Broadway favorites, with Petrina Bromley, Casey Clark, Alan Cumming, Ed Dixon, Mariah Rose Faith, Tovah Feldshuh, Victor Garber, James Harkness, Heather Headley, Ramin Karimloo, Allen Rene Louis, Mduduzi Madela, George Masswohl, Matt Manuel, Nteliseng Nkhela, Karen Olivo, Genny Padilla, Jacqueline Remy, Conrad Ricamora, Eliseo Romรกn, Jennifer Sรกnchez, Laura Leigh Turner, Nik Walker and Nina West rounding out the cast.
